Yes 8/17-19 would be great! I have a few thoughts on projects... would like to increase engine power on the bus, now we have more family members ;) |

Pete, thanks for bringing this topic to the top again. I have been meaning to do that. Now is the time to post projects you would like to work on at Volkstock. As we build the list, we can prioritize by length of time to finish. Projects that will take the longest will need to be ready to start Friday evening.
Pete what do you want to do to gain power? Carbs, rockers, ignition, headers etc.? Total rebuild with more displacement or maybe step up to type 4 power? _________________ 73 Typ481

Type IV.... mmmm.... wipe drool from mouth. The budget is probably not that good this year. I was thinking dual carbs and higher flow exhaust to match.
Right now its a stock 1600dp, suggestions?

I have a good used Type 4.. Its an 1800. I also have an exhaust for it and a good used DTM cooling system. I'd sell it for 2500 bucks (all of it) and all you'd need is a set of carbs. I'll even modify the flywheel so it'll bolt right in to your stock tranny..
Thats a deal you can't pass up! Just ask Jon! _________________ Jake Raby

With type 4 power you can keep adding to the size of the family. That is quite the deal Jake is offering.
Jake, if Pete doesn't want it, I am interested in the used DTM set up. I have a 2.0 type 4 I want to use in Little Jon's bug. _________________ 73 Typ481

Jake,
Sounds very interesting... trying to get an idea of scope...
What carbs would be recommended on the 1800, and what other parts would I needed to complete the installation; CHT gauge?, custom tin?... trying to remember all the things we did on Johns a couple of years back...
Best regards,
Peter. |

It would need what Jon got... If you had carbs, manifolds and linkage along with a 009 and some plug wires you'd be set. I have some used sealing tins as well.
I only want to sell the DTM with this engine, I have been saving some parts to throw on it so I could sell it to get some more ammo money :-)
I could have it ready for Volkstock if I knew if you wanted it by July 9 when we get back from shut down. _________________ Jake Raby

Have a 009 + wires, I would need the carbs, manifolds and linkage. Which carbs would you recommended to match up with this motor?

I should be there. Probably be the shake down run for my '63 squareback. I know we need to put some mudflaps on a certain squareback _________________ Give me a salad & a PBR please |

Pete, if you go with Jake's T4, I know where Ken's pop rivet gun is _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam
