Huge thanks to Inge and Ken for their boundless hospitality. We all had a superb weekend and sincerely hope there'll be a Volksfest III. Great to see some of the jobs I've only read about first hand, I feel emboldened to wreak more havoc on the growing VW collection! (as they say a little knowledge is a dangerous, lots of knowledge is probably lethal!...) Thanks to everyone for sharing time, tools, knowledge (and fast orange), Special thanks to Jim for the work on the ignition switch replacement, and Gary for the double checking my first valve adjust. The Clown Car made it all the way home with many odd looks from the traffic on 316 (including a state trooper, who obviously decided he had bigger fish to fry and drove past just shaking his head ).
Many, many thanks again to Inge and Ken for hosting us for the weekend, Pete Mindy Dugi Zoe and Harry xx |

We enjoyed this weekend tremendously!! Thanks to everyone for coming and spending time at our humble establishment. It was a pleasure having the Athens VW Club spend time in the "Little Town of BETHLEHEM".
Hope u enjoyed it as much as we did?

SENSEO coffee-maker offer...
Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for getting you "hooked" on SENSEO and talking it up so much this weekend. Why you ask? The promotional offer is over due to overwhelming response!!
https://www.sharesenseo.com/q5/1.jsp;jsessionid=1A835E50A7C592A3F7EB4F0BF7409D28
Feel free to buy a senseo coffee-maker (just not for $15.00). CHECK OUT EBAY for SENSEO COFFEE MACHINES - there are millions and they are reasonably priced and some even come with the coffee PODS.
Target seems to have the cheepest PODS of coffee, but feel free to experiment other coffee's from this site:

I'm also looking forward to next year. As the knowledge and experience gets passed on, It certainly gets easier on me. It was awesome to see Scott B and James tag teaming the shifter bushing, and Gary coaching with Pete's valve adjustment, etc, etc... It's one thing to do the work for someone, but it's really awesome when the learner gets to actually do the work with some supervision. The confidence level goes way up.
Here's what a great bunch of folks can accomplish in a weekend:
1 drop spindle/disc brake conversion on Scott A's 68 bug (3 hours, 20 minutes, yes I'm proud)
2 type 4 upright conversion, elec fuel pump, etc... in Jon's Thing
3 new shifter bushings for James and Scott B
4 T/O bearing repair, plugs, carb rebuild, valve adjustment, carb adjustment, major wiring repairs etc, etc....on Tito's bug
5 adjusted rear torsion on Jimbear's bus
6 tightened lugnuts on Jimbear's bus on the side of the road with 4 of us watching because it was an emergency
7 valve adjustments on Ted's bus and Pete's sweet clown-mobile
8 headlight aiming on someone's bug? (I was too lazy to walk to the end of the driveway )
9 Dugi and Corbin moved a stack of cups several times
I'm sure there are other repairs that happened that I didn't mention.
What a GREAT weekend. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

Clyde,
Ken had that picture on his camera, as well as another almost 80 pictures which he downloaded on the pc last night. He has not send them out yet. It's a great picture.
I, IB, also wanted to thank everybody for making all the preparations Ken and I did be appreciated and worth while. It was great seeing everything come together the way Ken and I had invisioned it.
