Put Dec. 1 on your calendar as the day for the Watkinsville Christmas parade. I'll post details for meeting soon.
Plan on going to Loco's after the parade.(or maybe Kevin's house?) This will be our Dec. meeting. _________________ 73 Typ481

Who is planning to be in the parade?
Please use good judgement as to what is parade worthy. That is, if your doors don't match the car (or there is more rust than paint etc), maybe you should ride with someone else.
That being said, no one will be turned away. But, we do want people to have a positive image of our club and our cars.
Please note that there is an opportunity to be in the Commerce parade the next day. _________________ 73 Typ481

I'm in, and I'm pretty sure Kevin will be in.
I forget what the parade theme is. Does general Christmas decorating work?
Oh, and if anyone wants to make a Christmas wish list for their spouses, you're all invited to my place to check out what all I have in my parts store. I guess you can follow me home after the festivities Sat. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

The theme this year is ' We wish you a Merry Christmas in Watkinsville'.
It is OK to just decorate your car in a general Christmas theme. I know last year many of the antique cars didn't have any decorations, but we are asked to decorate.
It looks like there are only 6 other old cars if front of us. (31 tractors behind us)
We line up in the same place we have every year. We are entry # 56.
We will meet at McDonalds at 9:00-9:30am for those who want to grab a bite and head over. It is fine to just go to our line-up spot on Industrial Blvd if you want to.
Any questions? _________________ 73 Typ481

We'll look for you Saturday morning Jake.
Kevin is NOT going to be around on Saturday, so the post parade party will be at Loco's for sure.
I should have the '60 ready for driving Saturday.
At this point it looks like the weather should be nice. _________________ 73 Typ481

Hey Jon,
my buddy just informed me that the Athens parade is Nov.29. I was wondering is the club riding in that one too? |

We tried to get in the Athens parade once, but they promptly told us it was for floats ONLY. No cars.
As for burn-outs Jake, while it would add interest and wake Santa up, I think we want to be able to come back next year.
Maybe we could save the burn-outs for when we exit Locos.
If your bus doesn't idle well, it might need a smooth running Type 1. (taking cover) _________________ 73 Typ481

OK, I'll be good... Actually Beth asked if she could drive the Bus and that usually creates a burn out situation so I'll tell her that she'll have to wait till next year :-)
As for a smooth running Type 1, yeah they do idle well as long as they don't have a 34 pict 3 installed..... _________________ Jake Raby

The last time i did a burn out leaving Loco's it cost me $500 in the form of a speeding ticket
Thanks to Clyde for fixing Hazel's red 67 sunroof bug! It lost a stripped out oil strainer stud and left Hazel with a puddle of oil under her. This car is the much prettier sister to my blue 67.
Jon, do you think that she'll left me cruise it in the parade? I'm afraid the 63 will be quite an embarassment in the parade since the syncros are shot. I'd be grinding first all the way through downtown Watkinsville _________________ Steve

Steve, you ought to drive it in reverse!!!
At MGM studios' stunt show there was a car that had the body installed backwards, so he could have 4 forward gears that looked like he was flying in reverse. Only thing was, you had to wonder why the rear wheels were doing the steering. He even had an extra set of arms sewn into his firesuit that velcroed onto a dummy steering wheel, and a face on the back of his helmet! _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam
