|
|
It is time once again to sign up for the Poker Run. It will be run on May 7th. As always we will start in Helen GA behind the Best Western. Start time is 10:00am.
This year the host hotel is the Best Western. The rate is $59.00. Call and tell them you are with the Athens VW Club. 706 878 2111
They have a block of rooms for us both Friday and Saturday night.
Cost is $30.00 per person drawing cards. If you are not playing, there is no cost; however, we ask that at least one person per car plays. Entry fee gets you a chance at some nice prizes, a great cruise thru the mountains, and an event T-shirt. The first stop is lunch at Fender's Diner- you will need lunch money.
Registration info coming SOON!
If you plan on participating please PM Clyde or me your shirt size.
If you want to be a sponsor, let Clyde, Steve or me know. _________________ 73 Typ481

We'll post the map soon. The whole route is in the mountains and ends at Jake's shop. _________________ 73 Typ481

The Poker Run is coming up pretty quick like! Here is a flyer with the route, the stops, and the tee shirt design. For those of you that did the run last year, we are keeping the same route.

Woody from West Georgia has Condos available at Alpine Ranch in Helen for $114.25/weekend. He can be reached at 770-652-6900.
This is better than the hotel! _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

I am gonna try and get something running by then. My tranny took a dump Thursday night and lost third and fourth gear, had to drive home in second gear. Made for a long ride home. Right now i am trying to get an engine together for the rail. I know i wont be able to get the tranny fixed by then. Everybody keep your fingers crossed. |

I got to look at the spare that i have and see if it is good. If it is I will pull it down to your shop and see about changing it out. I think third and fourth gear spun on the shaft. At least thats what it felt like anyway. |

I think this year I'll be driving the Iltis! It loves the mountain roads and I might just take a detour if Keith decides to join us! _________________ Jake Raby

Hey Shane, I wish i could put an IRS in but it is a swing axle and i dont wont to go through all the hasle of welding in the brackets and all but thanks. If you run across a good swing axle let me know. On another note i did get the new engine running this afternoon so i will be riding the rail this year. |
