If the swing axle is a long axle you can swap the diff and swing axles into any IRS that has both side plates removable :-) _________________ Jake Raby

Not sure if it is a long axle or not, it is a 68, the same blue one i had at the tech weekend at your shop a few weeks ago. I would like to have an IRS for the taller gear in 4th. |

I do have a double side plate IRS trans that came out of my bug. Its actually a 69 type 3 trans I beleive. It works great, just has a slight mainshaft bearing noise. I only swaped it besause I got an AT code single side plate trans. If you were gonna change it to a swingt you could replace that bearing at same time and it would be perfect. Im not tryin to make a sell just letn you know what it is. I pulled it out of my bug about a year and a half ago and its been sittin in the corner of my shop since. _________________ Shane Price

After some discussion, it's been decided to limit the prizes to 5, in order to speed up the awards time at the end of the run.
Confirmed sponsors this year are:
RustyWesty.com web design (Christy Bender)
R1C powdercoating (Ron Ritchie)
Aircooled Technology (Jake Raby)
Athens German Aircooled Parts (me)
There may be a few more, I haven't called them yet, 'cause I'm way too busy running my store. If neccessary, we will give cash as the remaining prizes. Any small donations (hats, stickers, etc..)will be placed on a table and up for grabs.
We will be grilling burgers at the Hotel for everyone after the run, but we ask that you provide your own beverages. _________________ '69 Bug, 1776, dual kadrons, Web 111 cam

The Poker Run is this weekend in Helen, and it looks like we are going to have beautiful weather! I'm bringing a jacket though in case it gets chilly in the parking lot at the hotel like it did last year.
As Jon mentioned on the first page of this post, we are back at the Best Western Riverpark Inn. The parking lot is a little easier to negotiate than the other spot.
We'll gather in the parking lot of the shopping center sorta behind the Best Western like we have been. For those who have not done the run before, just look for at of the VWs and you'll find the right spot.
We will be taking registrations and handing out tee shirts on Friday night and Saturday morning before the run.
We need to leave the parking lot promptly at 10am on Saturday so that we can make it to our first destination (Fender's Diner in Cornelia) before the regular lunch crowd takes up all of our seats.
As Clyde mentioned, we will award prizes from our esteemed sponsors for the top 5 or so poker hands. Beth and Jake have agreed to share their shop with us once again as our final stop.
We look forward to another great weekend in beautiful north GA with a ton of VWs slowly cruising through the twists and turns. See ya' in a few days!!!
Bender, I hope that y'all get things worked out and you make it this weekend...we'll save you a spot. _________________ Steve

Looking forward to this, as always!
We'll be driving the Iltis this year, it really loves the mountains and is just so damn rare and cool!
We'll gladly open the shop for some tours.. It'll be great! _________________ Jake Raby

Please take lots of pictures and videos so I can see what I missed.

I cant make the run!
I was wondering who lives closest to winder?
I have a package that needs to get to (Jake & Beth)and since i cant make it was wondering if someone dont mind taking it on the run and delivering it to them at the end for me and my daughter Katie.
I wish i could make it sounds like a blast.

I screwed up and put Woody's condos at double price. I corrected it in the earlier post, it's cheaper than the hotel!!!
